The Cape Peninsula’s popular male voice choir, the Quarrymen,will hold a concert at the Fish Hoek High School on Friday 19 October 2012 at 19:30. This talented choir – whose members are drawn from the diverse communities of the south peninsula – will be presenting a variety of well-known numbers such as ‘Any Dream Will Do,Climb Every Mountain,Eli Jenkins Prayer, Calon Lan,Battle Hymn Of The Republic,Speed Your Journey’ as well as a couple of new ones including the powerful African song ‘Bawo’.

 

There is more! The choir will also present its own ‘Barbershop Quartet’ singing ‘Java Jive, An Irish Blessing, I Want A Girl, and the ever-popular ‘Good Night Sweetheart’! and there will be a guest appearance by the Cape Town Concert Brass. This Band is a collection of amateur musicians configured as a traditional English Brass Band – whose repertoire varies from classical to jazz to arrangements of popular tunes – and whose past concerts include the Bastlle Day festivities in Franschoek,The Whale Festival in Hermanus and Carols-by-Candlelight at Kirstenbosch.

 

This is the Quarrymen’s year-end concert and it promises to be an upliflting and joyous celebration of well-loved music. Do not miss it!!
