The End of your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe

A true story of a son and a mother who is dying of cancer. He has to accompany her to the chemo sessions and to while away the time they start a book club and he writes a blog about her progress and the books they share. At the back of the book is a list of all the books. Highly recommended.
Left Neglected by Lisa Genova

A compassionate, well researched story of a high powered executive who loses the use of her left side in an accident.
Still Alice by Lisa Genova.

Well researched and worth reading. A story of Alzheimers and how it affects all families.
A Lady Cyclist’s Guide to Kashgar by Suzanne Joinson

A story of missionaries in Afghanistan and told as two stories, a modern day one and a historic one, a truly compassionate story of three women who go to Kashgar to do missionary work. As the title indicates, one has a bicycle. Very thought provoking.

The unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce

Again a story of a family, a couple falling apart and how Harold leaves home to post a letter to a dying friend and does not stop till he has completed the 700 odd miles from Kingsbridge to Berwick. A fabulous read about human relationships.
The Lower River by Paul Theroux
The story of the end of a marriage, a man stuck in a business and his return to the Lower River in Malawi where he once as a student was very happy.
