Kalk Bay Books
looks forward to welcoming you to our

a talk with Cape Town’s greatest mapmaker &
two significant book launches

The Mapmaker of Cape Town
Peter Slingsby’s Life in Maps

with

Peter Slingsby

&
Tim Butcher

Peter Slingsby is the man behind the best maps ever produced of Western Cape regions:
No one who hikes our mountains should be without one.
In this special one-off event Peter will be talking about the passion and precision
needed in cartography, discussing his life’s work with
author and adventurer Tim Butcher.

The full range of Slingsby maps will be available and a new edition of the
Table Mountain map will be launched on this occasion.
This is the only map of Table Mountain endorsed by the Table Mountain National Park
and approved by the Mountain Club of South Africa,
and his touring maps of the Western Cape and other areas have been described as
‘simply brilliant and totally in a league of their own’.

There is a cost of R50 per person to attend this discussion,
with seating provided for everyone.
Numbers will be limited.

To book your place, call the bookshop at 021 788 2266 between 9am and 5pm daily.
