The first Annual Book Festival in the South Peninsula takes place at Fish Hoek Library on 18 – 21 March 2015

A world-class line-up from our doorstep:

We launch the Festival on Wednesday 18 at the Fish Hoek Library with a Wine and Crime evening. Join Mike Nicol, Andrew Brown and Michele Rowe in a glass of wine while they chat about their books and writing experiences.Then attend a workshop in Fish Hoek Library on Thursday morning on getting yourself published.

Thursday evening is erotic evening, Diane Awerbuck will be leading an Erotic Writing panel consisting of Paige Nick and Helen Moffett (⅔ of Helena S. Paige) and Joanne Hichens. Remember to arrange a babysitter for the 19th.

Story time for the little ones on Friday morning 20th includes a workshop for parents on story-telling organised by The Centre for the Book.

Cosplay all Saturday afternoon in the Minor Hall and library courtyard, dress up or just come and see the amazing costumes that are created. Reader’s Den has sponsored prizes for this event. They and a host of graphic and comic artists will display and sell their works at this venue.

Also on Human Rights Day, Reflection on South Africa’s recent past through the eyes of Sonwabiso Ngcowa, Melanie Verwoerd, Mark Gevisser. Saturday 19:00 in the Fish Hoek Minor Hall.

There will be events at satellite venues:

Author talks and a puppet show in Masiphumelele. Slam poets will strut their stuff.

Dawn Garrisch will be conducting a workshop in memoir writing in Simon’s Town.
