The Fenn Cape Point Challenge is one of the most historic races in the history of Surfski. The 50km route along one of the most rugged coastlines in the world starts in Scarborough and takes paddlers around Cape Point all the way to Fish Hoek.
It is better known as THE most gruelling one day surfski race of the year and one which always lives up to its reputation, creating an honour and bond amongst those who are simply able to just finish it.
“I am really looking forward to the Fenn Cape Point Challenge this Saturday and hopefully being able to retain my title from last year,” says one of SA’s top paddlers, Hank McGregor. Jasper Mocke is also going for a win, while his brother Dawid Mocke will be teaming up with Lewis Pugh in a double surfski for the race.
The race offers R200 000.00 in prize money, attracting some of the top names in the world.
Top paddlers joining the race this weekend include American Austin Kiefer, South African greats Hank McGregor, Sean Rice (the 2013 World Surf Ski Champion) and Dawid Mocke, Valentin Henot from France, Brendan Rice from Australia, Angie Mouden from France, Richard Holme from Sweden and Michael Dobler from Germany, to mention a few.
