THE EMERGENCY CONTROL CENTRE (ECC) offers a FREE 24-hr emergency response service for any problem or emergency in the area from Lakeside / Muizenberg to Cape Point and Noordhoek.

False Bay Volunteer Emergency Medical Services (FBVEMS) is celebrating 13 years of community service. FBVEMS consists of medically trained emergency care practitioners who live in the community in which they serve. FBVEMS has its own ambulance and two emergency medical response vehicles. FBVEMS became necessary as the nearest ambulance was based in Retreat and the response times to FH were unacceptable. NSRI

NSRI is manned by 880 highly skilled, unpaid volunteers – men and women on standby day and night throughout the year. Apart from sea-going and shore-based crew running the rescues there is also need for volunteers as coastwatchers ie retired people who have a good view of the sea to act as spotters. Special training and equipment is supplied. We also value “mothers” who ensure that there is coffee and dry towels for the crew when they come back tired, wet and cold.
