FALSE BAY FENCING CLUB

False Bay Fencing Club caters for all young people from 6 to 20. We are now over ten years old, and in time we have seen six of our members competing at international level. We have teams participating in the Western Province Schools League in u19, u15 and u13 divisions, as well as regular inter-club events for individuals from 8 years of age. Although in times past swordsmanship was a deadly art, there is much to be learnt from this heritage whilst having great fun! FALSE BAY UNDERWATER CLUB

The False Bay Underwater Club has been going for over 60 years, – it’s the oldest diving club in South Africa. We currently have over 120 active members from all over Cape Town. Members comprise of a wide range of divers ranging from novice divers to technical experts. Being part of the club offers divers a wonderful opportunity to engage with other active divers around Cape Town. But it’s not only about diving, our club offer social activities throughout the year, competitions, courses, gear hire, free weekend social dives and Wednesday evening get togethers. The clubhouse is situated in Belper Road, Under the Wetton Road Bridge in Wynberg in Cape Town open every Wednesday night from 19:30 till around 22:30. NEW BALANCE FISH HOEK SURF LIFESAVING CLUB

NEW BALANCE FISH HOEK SURF LIFESAVING CLUB -home of the SA Surf-lifesaving champions. The club has for 50 years been an integral part of Fish Hoek and its surrounds. We offer a structured training programme for boys and girls from as young as 6 yrs and active competition from nipper level (9 to 14 yrs), junior level (14 to 18 yrs), senior and masters (over 30). PENINSULA CANOE CLUB

Peninsula Canoe Club is one of the top canoeing clubs in the Cape and in South Africa. Time trials every Tuesday at 6.15pm and Sunday at 8am are held at the Imperial Yacht Club/Peninsula Canoe Club, Zandvlei, Lakeside. Training every weekday evening. Sean Rice runs training programmes for novices on Zandvlei throughout the year and Rob MacLean takes groups onto the rivers, once they have been found proficient on Sean’s programme. Interested? IMPERIAL YACHT CLUB

Imperial Yacht Club is a family orientated dinghy racing club. Focus is placed on sailing development for youth. The main classes racing are Lasers, Sonnets, Xtras, Optimists and Dabchicks, although any class of boat is welcome to join in the racing.

Racing is held every Sunday from late August to early September, when the club re-opens after the off-season, and continues until late May when we have our Closing Cruise and Annual Prize Giving and AGM. MUIZENBERG BOWLING CLUB

Come and join us on Tuesday mornings (09h15 for 9h30) and Saturday afternoons (13h45 for 14h00) for a pleasant and relaxed game of bowls and tea. While many clubs are closed in winter, we play 12 months a year, weather permitting. Flat-soled shoes are essential, otherwise dress code is casual, except for matches against other clubs. Visitors and beginners of all ages are very welcome and tuition and bowls will be provided. Twilight bowls every Friday after work (any time after 16h00) followed by drinks and a light snack. MUIZENBERG CROQUET CLUB

Come and join us at the Bowling Club on Monday and Wednesday afternoons (13h45 for 14h00) and Saturday mornings (09h30 for 10h00) for a relaxed and enjoyable game of croquet. PROTEA SPORTS CLUB

Protea Sports Club, founded to provide a venue for paraplegics to continue playing sport, offers tennis, field events, table tennis, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby and dancing for the disabled. We would like also to encourage participation in our Saturday afternoon beginner’s classes in archery from 1-3pm. Equipment, targets and a coach are provided. Cost R50 pp. All welcome.  The club has one of the largest archery venues in SA and is one of only two archery clubs in the greater Cape Town area.
