The St Luke’s Hospice False Bay Branch will again be hosting the Tree of Remembrance and Carols by Candlelight at the Noordhoek Farm Village on the evening of 8th December.

The reason that the evening has been brought forward by a week is that the S.A. Navy Band that always performs on the evening, has been ordered to play in Pretoria on the following week end.

The gates open at 5:00 pm. Volunteers will be selling candles and song sheets at the entrances. There will again be a market to sell Christmas goods and a variety of foods. Activities to keep young children entertained with be organised by staff from the village.

The evening will get under way at around 6:45 pm with the opening formalities.  These will be followed by a performance of the Masiphumelele Choir. The S A Navy Band will then play their selection of popular tunes. At about 8:00 pm the Band will lead everyone in the singing of carols.

Hopefully the weather will be kind to us this year and we shall be able to light the candles to accompany the carols. The evening should close at around 8:30 pm.  If it seems that there might be rain on the night the function will move to St Peter’s Church off Kommetjie Road.

As in the past we need volunteers to assist on the evening with the manning the tables at the entrances and walking around with collection tins.
