Simric Yarrow of Muizenberg will be performing his poetry at Kwalapa Restaurant in Newlands (an organic food favourite, so come and eat your supper there too!) on Friday July 27th, from 6-7pm. The event is a triple bill as he will be preceded by music from Alastair Douglas from 4-5pm and words and music from Croc-E Moses from 5pm-6pm.

If you haven’t heard Simric’s poetry before, here’s what others have said about his performances:
“moving, wise and sensual – inimitable” – Hugh Hodge, editor of New Contrast literary journal
“musically rhythmic, passionately motivated, humorously twisted and cleverly structured – I love it!” – Vincent Myburgh, Jungle Theatre
“Mesmerising. The skill with which Simric performs his poetry is quite astonishing and beautiful – I was blown away by the strength of his performance” – SA-venues.com
Because of the other performers involved, there will be a small cover charge of R20. The CDs will normally be on sale for R120, but anyone who purchases the CD that has paid the cover charge will be reimbursed it – i.e. the CD will cost R100 rather than R120.
