Stephen Lamb of Touching the Earth Lightly in collaboration with ST&AR Architects based in Kalk Bay designed the City of Cape Town’s Climate Smart Pavilion at COP17 in Durban which has been presented with the Award for the Best Green Stand.

The pavilion is constructed out of 1884 plastic milk crates and over 22 000 plastic milk bottles and features the outlines of Table Mt, Lion’s Head and Devil’s Peak. For pictures and more about the Climate Smart Cape Town see

All the materials will be re-used once the conference is over and the stand is dismantled.

Our congratulations  to Andre Rademeyer and the team.
