The Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope, chartered in 1958, aspires to put ‘service above self’ and to promote the Principles of Rotary in the Scenic South Peninsula with particular emphasis on supporting disadvantaged people in our area. 100% of all funds raised or donated are spent on club approved projects and are implemented under the supervision of members who apply their personal skills and resources without remuneration.

Our club has in the past few years been responsible for building an extension to the Sinethemba Special Care Centre in Masiphumelele, building Green Curtains Pre-School in Ocean View and Masakhane Pre-School in Masiphumelele plus we have been involved in the Open Doors project in Ocean View and have foundation status with E-T-E (Employment Through Education).   We have also provided spontaneous assistance, as and when required to individuals, crèches, schools, hospitals, old age homes and also shelter boxes to be used in disaster areas around the world.

We conduct fundraising events on a regular basis including our ever popular Dragon Boat Regatta which is held at Zandvlei in October every year.

We would welcome anyone interested in finding out about Rotary, to come and interact with others of a generally common purpose in a convivial atmosphere.  Visitors from other Rotary clubs and guests are always welcome to join us too.

Club meetings are held every Tuesday evening at 6-30pm for 7-00pm at the St James Retirement Hotel on the Main Road opposite the St James Railway station.
