Do Rock music and accordions go together? Of course they do!

 Hear for yourself the different facets of accordion playing when THE ROCKIN’ ACCORDIONS OF LEIPZIG GERMANY come to Cape Town!

The 17 accordionists between the ages of 16 and 28 are under the direction of Wolfgang Niebling. Their motto is the famous song “ROCKIN’ ALL OVER THE WORLD” by the band STATUS QUO.

For 10 years now the ROCKIN’ ACCCORDIONS have demonstrated that the best rock music is created with their instruments.They have already convinced Malta, Vienna (Austria), Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Prague (the Czech Republic), Nice (France), Verona (Italy), Ikaalinen (Festival Sata Haem Soi, Finland), Barcelona (Spain), Innsbruck (Austria) and many more.

Besides rock music, their musical repertoire ranges from classic to pop music. Two keyboards and one bass play background, and like the singing parts, are only filled by orchestra members.

In 2010 the orchestra took part in two musical competitions – at the International World Music Festival in Innsbruck. They were awarded “Very Good” and achieved fifth place in Europe at the “European Accordion Festival” in Prague !
