South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced the change in the management of the Wild Card from Infinity with immediate effect.
UPDATE FROM SANPARKS via dated July 2011
Wild Card members who have not yet received their new Wild Card can still enjoy visits to parks and reserves with their confirmation letter and ID (or passport). The Wild Card is launching an improved purchasing and updating process on the web. We will also communicate directly with you to fill in any outstanding details so that we can get your card to you as soon as possible. The Wild Card team would like to thank you for your patience during this difficult and frustrating process and look forward to sending you your card.
The Wild Card is a programme that provides nature lovers with unlimited access to some of Southern Africa’s premier conservation areas.
According to Phillips, Managing Executive Tourism Development and Marketing at South African National Parks (SANParks), this move will enable SANParks and all its partners – Big Game Parks of Swaziland, CapeNature, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and Msinsi Resorts and Reserves – to ensure more relevant benefits to our loyal Wild Card holders, as well as greater control of the Wild Card Programme itself.
“Over the past year, through comprehensive research and customer feedback, it has become evident that we need to move the Wild Card Programme to more advanced technology that will enable SANParks and its partners to provide relevant benefits to our loyal card holders.
Phillips said, the current Infinity Wild Card will be replaced with the distinctive New Wild Card, as the ‘old’ card will no longer be accepted at Wild Card partner parks and nature reserves, after 31 December 2010.
“It is against this background that we call upon all Wild Card holders to please update their membership details timeously, in order for them to receive the New Wild Card as well as continued access.
Updates must be completed at any one of the Wild Card partner websites, at or alternatively contact our call centre on 0861 GO WILD (46 9453). Applications for renewal of expired cards and new purchases may also be processed on-line,
Phillips further explained that the issuing of Infinity Cashback rewards will also cease with immediate effect. Wild Cardholders, who still have Cashback rewards, will be able to redeem their Cashback rewards, using the old Infinity Wild Card, at any of the current Infinity redemption partners. For more information on Infinity redeemable points or Cashback rewards, kindly contact Infinity directly on 0861 23 4002.
SANParks had planned to ensure a seamless transition to the new programme, however the limited access to accurate cardholder records and personal contact details, has necessitated this urgent call to action. SANParks and its Conservation Partners appreciate the support of our most loyal customers.
Partners to the Wild Card programme include SANParks (www.sanparks.org ), Big Game Parks of Swaziland (www.biggameparks.org ), CapeNature (www.capenature.co.za ), Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (www.kznwildlife.com ) and Msinsi Resorts (www.msinsi.co.za ).

We renewed our two Wild Cards at the Pafuri Gate on June 27 2011 but not a word so far. What’s going on? Quite in contradiction to dealings with SANPARKS over many years.

Please phone 0861 GO WILD (46 9453) or email withyour query. I have just done the same, having been issued with a wildcard confirmation letter after renewing my `wildcard’ also in June. The system did not have all my relevant details – even though I filled them in on the completion form. I have now been promised that my wildcard will be posted within 4 weeks.
Please note that Scenic South is a community info website and not a SANPARKS agent.
Good luck Kim

Hi Christine
You will have to go to the Tourism office at Noordhoek Farm Village or to the SANPARKS office in Westlake in order to update your card. It is not something that others can do for you.

Hi Sias
ReplyHaving paid for an all Parks Wild Card in December last year, I received our card via registered mail about 2 weeks ago, ie at the beginning of July. It seems that one must have patience and it will arrive! In the meantime remember to keep with you the letter that you were given when purchasing your Wild Card. Without it you might not be able to get into the reserves without paying the entry fee. Viv

Hi
I paid for a new card in December last year and have not yet received our All Parks Wild Card. At the time I was given the following telephone number and email address to follow-up should there be a porblem. There is a problem but I have not yet gotten around to following up and have been using the confirmation letter I received when my payment was made. Try emailing Annemarie at or phoning . Let us know if you have success!

We did not receive our wildcards yet. We are lifemembers, as we are both over 70 years of age.
What must we do, as we are booked into the Kruger National park in September.

Dit is eenvoudig onmoontlik om my kaart op te dateer. Ek het baie dae probeer;ek het al boodskappe gestuur;daar is egter geen reaksie nie en niks verder gebeur nie.Ek is raadop.Wat moet ek doen?

Hallo Kobus,
skryf vir Kathy by Table Mnt. National Park n email. ( ). Sy het my belowe om jou te help. I also need to renew my wildcard. Apparently only head office in Pretoria can issue the actual cards so we will be given a letter to say that we have paid for our wild card. The actual card will then be sent in the post. Kathy said that Head office has started sending the cards. I hope so as it is a huge schlepp carrying a letter around that does not fit into my purse.
Good Luck, Kim

Ja! it is a schlep, but I did manage to get through by phone this morning. It is a long phone conversation as you have to give all your contact details and ID numbers and date of Birth of family members on the card. I would advise people to update their cards online at . The next trick will be to see if we actually get our new cards in the post before we head offinto the wild for the summer holidays.

You state thatwe should renew or update the details but you have a call centre that puts the phone down in your ears or don’t answer, how do you expect the public to partake in this matter and support this transition if there is absolutely no assistance from the Wild card company’s side? This is very unproffesional.!!!!
ReplyMaybe what the public should do is to post an add in all the major papers and magazines and state the lack of willingness to help your clients.

We (4) people are trying to phone the wild card centre know for 2 weeks at different times. The people do take the call at then cut us off again. Or they just let the phone rings. How can we do what is asked of us if their is just no help.???
Where do we email or fax our paperwork to?
Thank you
