TEARS – THE EMMA ANIMAL RESCUE SOCIETY (EST. 1999), Fish Hoek
TEARS is a pro-life organisation which rescues, rehabilitates, re-unites and re-homes lost, abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats. A scheduled daily mobile clinic in disadvantaged communities provides primary health care (vaccinations, deworming, parasite control) and food to the animals. Animals requiring sterilisation or veterinary care are brought to our clinic where they are treated by our veterinarian for any illness, condition or injury. Sterilising companion animals and feral cats is our primary focus. Daily we care for +-300 animals at our shelter, providing them with food, shelter, veterinary care, exercise and positive interaction with people.To help sustain our operation we have three charity shops, in Bergvliet, Fish Hoek, and Sunnydale and a bookshop in Bergvliet.Volunteers and dog walkers always welcome.
