The Zandvlei Trust will be hosting TRACKS OF GIANTS presented by Dr Ian McCallum at the Muizenberg Masque Theatre on Wednesday 23 January 2013 at 7pm.

Following elephant cluster/migration routes, Ian McCallum and Ian Michler undertook a 5000km journey across southern Africa from the Skeleton Coast in Namibia to Cape Vidal in KZN.  Walking, cycling and kayaking through six countries, the expedition took a little over 4 months to be completed.

“It was a journey with very clear objectives – to promote the importance of corridor conservation and trans-frontier parks; to gain information regarding human and wild animal co-existence including human-animal conflict issues and finally, to interview selected  “giants” of human conservation in home countries.

“Considering the good and the bad news that is inevitably associated with conservation issues the experience nevertheless far outweighed our expectations”, explained Ian.
