Well, no rain today and the Swop Shop got off to an early start, with the queue starting at about 1 pm in readiness for the 3 o’clock opening!

The eager customers virtually cleaned out all the stocks we had and the wish list is as long as my arm!

Boys and girls clothes – T-shirts, jeans, pants, skirts, blouses – shoes – all very much in demand. Please ask anyone you know who has children, to go through their cupboards and let us have clea mended items.

Ladies clothes – almost nothing left, so please go through your cupboards and be ruthless at throwing out items in our direction.

Sheets – double preferred as no single beds in a shack, pillow cases, towels

Soap very popular

Stationery – coloured pencils very popular, small rulers,

Well done to today’s Swop Shop Team – the waiting customers were quickly attended to, their variety of bags and containers exchanged for the precious tickets and the resulting line of ticket-waving children and mothers surged and chattered until it was their turn to go into the magic Swop Shop. Reports from Midge, Carol and Nokuthula on the inside were of happy voices and eager fingers sorting through goodies to find just the right item to take home – some choosing things for a mother or a sibling.

Stanford Info (many thanks Chantel and Leanne) is a very convenient place to drop off your bags – I will collect from there.
