Richard Cock, Grootvadersbosch Conservancy, and Gondwana Alive present

First ever Silver Mountain Music Festival

Celebrating music and nature

Silver Mountain Music is a celebration of music and nature in the Grootvadersbosch Valley brought to you by SA’s renowned conductor Richard Cock (Richard Cock Music Enterprises), Grootvadersbosch Conservancy, Ajaghama, Schoone Oordt Country House, Switchback, Strawberry Hill Farm, Crossflow and Gondwana Alive. The event was born from a fusion of enthusiasm for nature, music, and mountains. “We hope this event will grow to an annual celebration of the amazing people and nature that live and play in the shadow of silver mountains” says organizer Aileen Anderson.

A festival of Music from 16-19 June Silver Mountain Music is being held in the Grootvadersbosch Valley. Silver Mountain Music will begin on Thursday the 16th June with the Delft Big Band, one of the country’s best up and coming groups who will join local bands for a magnificently combined concert. Friday will feature an elegant evening concert, featuring a String Quartet and Bridget Rennie flute, a lively evening of music in the spectacular Schoone Oordt Country House in Swellendam. On Saturday, Louis Armstrong and Friends will be staged on the site of a converted sawmill on Strawberry Hill Farm next to theGrootvadersbosch Nature Reserve.  This will feature Prince Lengoasa, South Africa’s very own Satchmo who will perform with the Cape Town Festival Orchestra. Saturday also includes wine tasting of award-winning Baleia wines. The final concert, on Sunday, will be a massed choir and orchestra concert in Heidelberg, including Choral favorites such as Hallelujah Chorus, Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring and much more.
