Members of the Stanford Bird Club had their lust for travel and birding stirred by the slide presentation by Mike Graham from BirdLife Overberg, Hermanus, at the Club’s monthly meeting this May.

The journey we enjoyed vicariously took us through the National Parks and Forests in Uganda from Entebbe, north to Queen Elizabeth National Park and south through to Ishasha Wilderness. We then fed our senses in the forests of Brazzaville Congo where we not only twitched but also were privy to the lives of the endangered and very human gorillas.

Mike is an expert birder and photographer and travels extensively to find and film  birds – especially those that he has not yet added to his already very extensive list – and other endemic wildlife.

Mike’s lively presentation and his beautiful photographs were appreciated by all present.

Many thanks to Mike for sharing his exquisite photographs with us.
