Most of us now bring our own bags to the shops to avoid using plastic bags – but what about those pesky thin plastic bags we use for fruit and vegetables?  They cannot be recycled with a sticker on them.  My daughter came on the excellent idea to replace them with tulle drawstring bags.  They cost hardly anything to make, are an easy beginner’s sewing project and weigh just about nothing – and can be reused again and again. As the sticker does not adhere to the tulle very well, I have cut a piece of plastic from a yoghurt container lid, punched a hole in it and attached it to the string for the labels.  I just need to remember to remove the old labels once I am home!
