Multi-award winning Follow Spot Productions stupefied the audience at Kalk Bay Theatre on the opening night of Another Day with their nouveau love story to live music which was authentic and intriguing. Vanessa Harris’ direction was superb and resulted in an unequivocally wonderful night of the most distinct entertainment. All adjectives aside, simply put, I’m going back to see it again!

The story resonates with all of us. Who hasn’t experienced the despairing melancholy of slowly losing that wanton desire and excitement that every love affair starts with?

Another Day now on at Kalk Bay Theatre

So You think you can Dance? And Sing and Act? Really?

The choreography and timing was flawless, featuring Ash Searle – owner of The Kalk Bay Theatre and Follow Spot Productions. Searle, who has performed all over the world in productions such as Chicago, The Buddy Holly Story, We Will Rock You, Fame,  completely captivated the audience with his world-class execution of the most vibrant style in his moves. Nadine Theron, who was the leading lady, excelled with her acrobatic free-styled steps. It is not difficult to see why she was chosen as the stunt girl/double for Claire Danes when Homeland was shot in South Africa.

One of the most magnificent highlights of the show was the bewitching, deep voice of the talented Lucy Tops. This exquisite singer has recently performed in The Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Fugard Theatre and was nominated for a Fleur du Cap Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical.

Another star of the show needs to be mentioned. Quite simply put, the Star of the Show is actually Kalk Bay Theatre. It’s warm and quirky and overflowing with vibey, energetic people, deserts to die for and they serve Merlot!

YES! Follow Spot Productions can sing and dance and ACT!

Really!
